OzHosting.com Predicts Cloud Adoption as Best Option for Australian SMBs Seeking Competitive Innovation

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – 25th February 2012 – OzHosting.com, a pioneer in Australia’s cloud hosting market, believes that small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) will need to rethink their IT strategy to create competitive innovation in their industries.

The latest findings of the 2012 Parallels SMB Cloud Insights™ for Australia point to Australian SMBs as lagging behind the rest of the developed world in terms of adoption of cloud-based services. The survey shows that only 15% of Australian SMBs report using hosted servers compared to the global average of 20% of SMBs in other developed countries. On a positive note, 60% of SMBs are now using free or paid online applications, compared to 46% from 2011.

According to Anthony Banek, CEO for OzHosting.com, many organisations offer cloud services, but no one makes the journey easy. “SMBs fall in the love with the cloud message of low-cost, highly scalable infrastructure only to realise that the cloud journey is not as easy as marketing brochures make it out to be. We developed a vision of ‘Cloud Made Easy’ because we know the pain points of small businesses and have made it part of our philosophy that their long-term success is our future. By making their cloud journey as smooth as possible, we ensure successful outcomes for our customers and partners,” he explains.

OzHosting.com specialises in enabling Australian SMBs to transition to a cloud-based infrastructure in a cost-effective and easy manner. Competitive innovation is what drives everyone at OzHosting.com – from the management, to engineers and technicians, to sales and marketing, to support staff. Following a successful management buyout in October 2011, the company has undertaken a renewed sense of focus, direction and commitment.

“Under our new management philosophy, we are driven to help our customers and people to prosper and grow. We do this by continually seeking to develop innovative technologies that provide small businesses with easy-to-use tools, solutions that provide greater autonomy and more control, and the best-in-service reliability and performance, all at a lower cost. We encourage our teams to delight customers by acting with integrity and valuing each other,” said Banek.

OzHosting.com has ambitions of extending its services beyond Australia to compete with other world-recognised hosting providers in the international market. “We see ourselves as delivering the same set of services offered by international players entering our market such as Amazon and Rackspace, but with more compelling pricing, personalised service and delivered locally. Our data centre complies with world-class standards for speed, reliability and security and because it is located in Sydney, we help local businesses meet customer privacy requirements by having their data and information stored in Australia,” he adds.

OzHosting.com’s success is winning recognition and status in the Australian and international ICT landscape. This year it is in the running for the Parallels APAC New Partner of the Year Award – an award that recognises a partner whose first year in the Parallels Partner Program is highlighted by strong revenue growth and demonstrated innovation in their use of Parallels technology when serving SMBs.

“The Parallels Asia Pacific Partner Awards recognises the most innovative and successful hosting and cloud service providers in the region,” said David Dzienciol, Regional Vice President and General Manager Parallels in Asia Pacific. “This year, we are very pleased to have OzHosting.com join the ranks of an elite group of new channel partners who have attained mastery of Parallels technology to create and deliver innovative solutions that have won over the recognition and loyalty of their customers, and in the process, helping accelerate cloud adoption among a wider group of SMBs in the local market.”

The 2012 Parallels SMB Cloud Insights™ for Australia estimates cloud-based services adoption among Australian SMBs to reach $865M AUD this year, with hosted infrastructure, hosted communication and collaboration, and web presence services accounting for 34%, 30% and 25% respectively.
