  4. How to enable Cloud Backup if you have a Proxy Server enabled in your network?

The cloud backup agent can transfer data via HTTP proxy server.

The agent installation requires an Internet connection. If a proxy server is configured in Windows ([Control Panel> Internet Options> Connections), the setup program reads the proxy server settings from the registry, you can use them automatically. For Linux and OS X setups you must specify the proxy settings before installation.

Using the following procedure, you can specify the proxy settings before the cloud backup agent is installed.

Linux
1. /etc/Acronis/Global.config – Create the file and open it up in an editor
2. Copy the following and paste it into the file using the editor
<?xml version=”1.0″ ?>
<registry name=”Global”>
<key name=”HttpProxy”>
<value name=”Enabled” type=”Tdword”>”1″</value>
<value name=”Host” type=”TString”>”proxy.company.com“</value>
<value name=”Port” type=”Tdword”>”443“</value>
</key>
</registry>

3. “proxy.company.com” is replaced with your  proxy server host name / IP address, 443 will be replaced by a numerical value of the port number
4. Save the file
5.
If the backup agent has not yet been installed, you can install. Otherwise, as the root user, you can restart the agent by running the following command in any directory

sudo service acronis_mms restart

Mac OS

<value name=”Host” type=”TString”>”proxy.company.com“</value>
<value name=”Port” type=”Tdword”>”443“</value>
</key>
</registry>

3. “proxy.company.com” is replaced with your  proxy server host name / IP address, 443 will be replaced by a numerical value of the port number
